HISTORY - DEVIL'S KITCHEN
|
To reach the Devil's Kitchen, one must take a three-quarter-mile trail in Colorado National Monument to reach the grotto surrounded by huge boulders. Typically, it is recommended that you visit in June - November, and the trail is accessible by hiking and even by wheelchairs. Hikers travel along a paved, level trail leads to a small platform overlooking a rock formation that has been described as a "mini Bryce Canyon." There is a bathroom (no water) and a small picnic area at the trailhead.
